15 gendarmes and 10 firefighters mobilized
For good reason, on 17 August 2017, Danish tourists thought
to see a black panther in Simiane, in the Bouches-du-Rhone. The news was
reported by France 3 and the site La Provence. We do not know what happened to
them. However, this alert will have mobilized not less than fifteen gendarmes
and a dozen firefighters, and all those efforts seemed for nothing, except for a
big black cat. The police had even contacted the zoo de la Barben in order to
be advised on how to best deal with the situation.
Indeed, when you are about
to face each other with an animal of this size, it is better to be well
prepared. The gendarmes and the firemen had equipped themselves with hypodermic
rifles. These are weapons intended to inject a tranquillizer to the animal.
