Jordan Smith had never witnessed such a spectacle. Luckily he was there to rescue the little hairball.
"I've seen some crazy things in this world but I've never seen a living animal being thrown from a bridge," said Jordan Smith to dwfDailyNews.
As captain of the fishing boat, Profishonal, he spent Thursday near the Marler Bridge of Choctawatchee Bay in Florida to recover a group that he had to take to fish when he heard ‘something’ being thrown in the water from the top of the bridge. Garbage ? No…
An adorable little cat
When he looked closer, he saw a pair of orange eyes that seemed to call him for help. It was actually a little black cat. He grabbed a net and threw it towards the animal he was able to draw from the water safe and healthy but traumatized. The feline no longer wanted to let go of his savior who held him in his arms until the arrival at the port. "It was very intense," he says. He was so focused on the little kitty that he hit the bridge twice during the rescue.
Once on land, he gave the cat to a friend who took him to a veterinarian before going back to finish his job. He plans to get him back on Friday and introduce him to his family. He thinks about naming the cat Miracle. A perfect name for this hairball that was very lucky!
